This week is National Water Week – the perfect time to consider the importance of water and how we use it.
A highlight of the week is the annual National Water Week poster competition for children from early learning through to Year 6.
The competition is run by water corporations, with statewide winners also announced by the Minister for Water.
More than 5000 entries were received this year, demonstrating the theme Water Heroes: Save Every Drop.
To see the winning entries from this year’s poster competition, visit your local water corporation's website and social media.
The theme of saving every drop is particularly important as Victoria experiences ongoing drought and dry conditions, with less rainfall making it into rivers and reservoirs.
Efficient use of water in homes plays an important role in helping conserve Victoria’s water supplies.
We all have a role to play. It’s the everyday water-saving habits – from the backyard to the bathroom – that collectively help conserve our water supplies.
