A range of supports are available for water customers in Victorian communities impacted by the bushfires across the state.
If you have emptied your household water tank for fire fighting or it now contains ash or other contaminants, then you may be eligible for a refill. More information about eligibility and how to apply can be found at emergency relief drinking water .
Coliban Water is providing regular updated information to its impacted customers, particularly those in the Harcourt area, via its website, as well as regular social media posts on Facebook and via SMS.
Coliban Water has also set up mobile water tanks in Harcourt for residents to collect safe drinking water. Work has also been undertaken to restore water to some properties, but it can only be used for showering, flushing toilets and washing.
Goulburn Valley Water has been providing important advice to its impacted customers, including Longwood and Longwood East, via its website, social media and sms. This includes where they can access safe drinking water.
Central Highlands Water has been providing valuable support to the communities of Skipton, Carranballac, Streatham and Stoneleigh as they assess and respond to the impact of the recent fires across their region. This included setting up water points at the recovery hub for the community to access drinking water.
Wellington Shire Council has also provided advice to residents, including where to find information for those who are not on a town water supply and rely on rainwater tanks, via its website and social media channels.
