To ensure that the Waterways of the West of Melbourne stay healthy and support the wellbeing of people, communities, our economy and environment the Waterways of the West Action Plan was created. The region has a rich, diverse multicultural heritage and the Action Plan identified a need to better connect with the region's culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

Action 8.3 - Delivery of a Waterways of the West CALD engagement toolkit to assist planning to increase the connection of the region’s CALD communities within the Waterways of the West.

The Toolkit

The Waterways of the West CALD Toolkit for Practitioners is a response to a need for better guidance on how to engage with CALD communities. Bringing together perspectives from broad-based research and consultation with wide-ranging stakeholders, the toolkit provides step-by-step solutions and resources for engaging and educating CALD communities about the waterways in the west of Melbourne.

This toolkit is a free resource for any organisation or practitioner looking to improve their engagement and educational practices with CALD communities. This toolkit will help grow practitioner knowledge of the waterways in Melbourne’s west. This will in turn strengthen CALD communities’ ability to shape the future of the Waterways of the West, enjoy their abundant benefits, and care for them.
