North East Water provides drinking water, sewerage, recycled water and trade waste services to a population of more than 100,000 people and 4,000 businesses in Victoria’s north east.
North East Water’s service area extends across 20,000 square kilometres along the Murray River from Corryong to Yarrawonga, then south to Benalla and the alpine towns of Bright, Mount Beauty and Dartmouth. It includes the urban centres of Wodonga and Wangaratta.

Water sources
North East Water manages various water supply systems as well as purchasing water from their wholesaler, Goulburn-Murray Water.
Water supplied to North East Water customers is taken from various rivers, streams, reservoirs and groundwater aquifers. These sources include the Murray, Ovens, Mitta Mitta and West Kiewa River catchments.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is responsible for North East Water’s strategic planning and is accountable to the Minister for Water for the corporation’s performance. The Board is supported and advised by the Executive, who oversee the corporation’s day-to-day management under the leadership of the Managing Director.
