Water sources
East Gippsland Water manages nine water supply systems across its service area. Most of the water delivered to customers is sourced from local river systems, including the Mitchell, Brodribb, Betka, Tambo, Buchan, Cann and Bemm Rivers. Water is also sourced from underground aquifers in the Mallacoota and Mitchell systems. Dinner Plain is the only locality where all drinking water is sourced from local aquifers.
