This initiative contributed funding for the dredging of Mordialloc Creek from the Mordialloc Creek boat ramp to the mouth of the creek. This included disposal of the dredge spoil at an appropriate licensed EPA landfill site, environmental monitoring and reporting of the dredging operations, and the development of a long term sustainable dredging plan for Mordialloc Creek.
Total EC3 investment: $2.0 m
2013-14 expenditure: $2.0 m
Up to 10,000 cubic metres of silt was removed from Mordialloc Creek between the Governor Road boat ramp and the mouth of the Creek.
The dredging works increased the depth of the Creek by 1.5 – 2 metres to improve navigability for recreational boaters and increase the amenity of the area.
As part of the funding agreement, City of Kingston has developed a long-term sustainable dredging plan for Mordialloc Creek.
