Recycled Irrigation Water for Cranbourne Gardens

This initiative is funding the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria to design and deliver a project to irrigate the Cranbourne Gardens with non-mains water, by using recycled water from the Eastern Treatment Plant. It will free up approximately 35 megalitres per year of potable (mains) water.

Progress

Funding has enabled completion of design documentation for the project, including a biodiversity report and cultural heritage assessment of the impacted area.

A tender process has concluded with construction of the pump and treatment facility to commence in July 2020. The project is on schedule to be completed in March 2021.
