This initiative delivers integrated reporting and analysis capability. It will ensure that Victoria continues to have access to integrated information and knowledge on the state of its water resources and meet Victoria's water resources assessment obligations.

This initiative funded the production of the Victorian Water Accounts for 2012-2013, 2013-2014 and 2014-15.  These reports are the latest in a series of annual publications that provide a summary of Victoria's water availability, allocation and use at bulk supply level.  The most recent accounts can be found on the Victorian Water Register website

The data underpinning the accounts was sourced via a cooperative approach with water businesses, catchment management authorities, the Essential Services Commission and large users of water, as well as from Victoria's state-wide water resource monitoring network.

The veracity of the Victorian Water Accounts is underpinned by a methodical approach to data collection, verification and modelling.  A large component of the work required to produce the accounts involves the verification of data and application of quality assurance processes to ensure that the data is the best available and robust enough to form the basis of the accounts. The final year of this investment in Victoria's integrated water analysis and reporting delivered improved spatial information to ensure on-going accuracy and improvements in future reports.
