Annual audits of water recovery for the Goulburn-Murray Water Connections Project have been undertaken for the 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15 irrigation seasons. The most recent audit of water recovery was conducted in October 2015 and the findings have been published on the DELWP website .
An audit of the revised baseline water balance and loss data was undertaken in 2012 to ensure that calculations were completed in line with the Water Savings Protocol. The baseline year water balances are a key reference point for water savings estimations attributed the Goulburn-Murray Water Connections Project.A major investigation of water savings estimation accuracy has also been undertaken. This work has allowed for a greater understanding of the key components of water losses and the accuracy of estimating water savings. Technical support has been provided under this initiative to ensure the Water Savings Protocol Technical Manual reflects best available knowledge.
