The Wanyarram Dhelk (good waterhole) project will deliver environmental, cultural and social benefits by improving the natural vegetation and water quality of the Bendigo waterway. It helps put in practice commitments made in Water for Victoria.

Bendigo Creek was a chain of billabongs, a long way from the lineal urbanised creek we know today and is an important cultural place for the local Dja Dja Wurrung Traditional Owners.

This important project will combine contemporary design and technology with Aboriginal cultural knowledge to provide a modern and considered holistic approach to water management.

The project will provide a high-quality amenity area for the Bendigo community and improve community education of Traditional Ecological Knowledge while supporting the self-determination of Traditional Owners.

The project is being delivered through DELWP and Djandak, in partnership with the Dja Dja Wurrung Clans Aboriginal Corporation, North Central Catchment Management Authority, the City of Greater Bendigo and Parks Victoria.
