The Our Catchments, Our Communities Leadership Development Grant program is designed to strengthen skills and capabilities while fostering a new generation of leaders in catchment management.

Now in its fourth year, the OCOC Leadership Development Grants have so far been awarded to 12 individuals across three categories including innovation, Aboriginal leadership, and women in leadership.

The program is funded as part of the Victorian Government’s $222m investment to implement Water for Victoria.

Grants are open to early or mid-career individuals who have a demonstrated track record of accomplishment and are seeking to tackle big challenges and make an impact in the field of integrated catchment management and/or natural resource management.

“The grant has afforded me firsthand experience in agriculture water efficiency approaches”, says 2018 recipient Bradley Costin who is examining water conservation farming practices in dryland areas and their potential broader benefits.

“I would definitely recommend individuals with an idea they believe is worth pursuing to apply for the Leadership Development Grant. It can provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring it forward and make it happen.”

Applications are now open. Eligibility requirements and more on the application process and grant guidelines can be found on the OCOC website. Discover more about past grant recipients here.
