About the Fund
Project categories
Eligible project categories:
- water supply security improvements
- water supply quality improvements
- new water services
- septic tank upgrades
- small town wastewater solutions.
Evaluation Criteria
- The STWQF is open to water corporations and local Government in rural areas.
- Funds are to be used for the implementation phase.
- Proponents who have submitted a successful Registration of Interest must develop a Business Case.
- The STWQF will provide 1:1 matching funding up to $1 million per project.
- Proponents must be able to identify source/s of matching funds.
- Local Government proponents must obtain CEO sign-off and local water corporation endorsement.
- Water Corporation proponents must obtain MD sign-off and relevant local government endorsement.
- The proposed projects should meet the following fund objectives:
- Results in service improvement
- Provides value for money investment
- Provides public and environmental health protection.
Registration of interest
There are four rounds of funding available for individual applications.
Water corporations and regional councils developing water supply solutions and implementing domestic wastewater management plans are invited to submit a Registration of Interest for funding accompanied by a Business Case.
Rounds 1, 2 and 3
