Schools Water Efficiency Program

The Schools Water Efficiency Program (SWEP) has helped over 1700 schools connected to a reticulated water supply to save water and promote water awareness throughout the community.

The program offered a simple solution to water conservation, through simple measures, such as fitting flow-control valves and fixing leaky taps or cisterns. It also identifies where action may be taken to best target water savings in the future.  This part of the SWEP program is now complete.

The next stage of SWEP is concentrating on a school understanding how its water is used, how to identify leaks, improving water efficiency and using this information in educating the students at the school.  The Data Logger program is ready to commence and a registration site will be available soon on the Water Learn it! Live it! website.

More to come on this new program.
