The Partnership Approach
A critical feature of the Sustainable Irrigation Program is the strong government and community partnership in regional program delivery. This partnership encourages community ownership of land and water management plans and their outcomes, and cost-sharing arrangements for community investment in agreed works.
Our implementation partners have an important role in developing, coordinating and implementing regional programs. They include Catchment Management Authorities and implementation committees, the Department of Primary Industries, rural water authorities and irrigators.
