Restrictions on Diversions - February 2008

Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams
At the end of February 2008, diversions from a total of 149 streams and lakes across the State were subject to some form of restriction. This is significantly less than at the same time last year when 198 streams were on restriction.
In northern Victoria, Goulburn-Murray Water placed restrictions on two streams and reintroduced an irrigation ban on a further stream in the Goulburn Basin. Goulburn-Murray Water also increased restrictions on two streams in the Mitta Mitta Basin and one stream in the Murray Basin, and reintroduced irrigation bans on two streams in the Broken Basin.
Bans on diversions from all unregulated streams in the GWMWater region remained in force.
In southern Victoria, Melbourne Water reintroduced irrigation bans in three of its streams, but lifted restrictions on Mullum Mullum Creek. Southern Rural Water increased restrictions on the Leigh River.
