Rainfall - September 2007
Dry conditions continued across much of the State during September 2007. West Gippsland and Victoria’s south-west coast recorded rainfall totals close to average; however the rest of Victoria recorded rainfall less than half the long-term average.
The highest total of 228.8 mm was recorded at Mt Baw Baw. The lowest total of 3.2 mm was recorded at Mildura Airport. Eight stations throughout Northern Country, Northeast, Central and East Gippsland districts recorded their lowest September rainfall totals on record.
Mean daily maximum temperatures were 1 to 2 degrees above normal across the State, whilst minimum temperatures were mostly about half a degree below normal.
Melbourne received just 18.6 mm of rain during the month, which is well below the long-term September average of 53.0 mm. The average maximum temperature was 18.8°C. This is 1.6°C higher than the September average.
