Restrictions on Diversions - March 2007

Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams
At the end of March, diversions from a total of 217 streams and lakes across the State were subject to some form of restriction (compared with 60 at the end of March 2006):
- In northern Victoria, a Stage 3 roster was imposed on diversions from the Rubicon River, and an irrigation ban was placed on the Bucklands River. Irrigation bans were imposed on the Upper Ovens River and 2 Mile Creek (increased from Stage 4 roster). The irrigation ban on Nariel Creek was relaxed to a Stage 4 roster, and the Stage 4 roster on Indi River diversions was relaxed to a Stage 2 roster.
- Currently, there are bans placed on irrigation diversions for all streams and lakes within the area serviced by Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water.
- In southern Victoria, restrictions were lifted on diversions from the Mitchell River.
