Storage Levels - April 2007
Volumes in the major storages throughout the State reduced by 1.6% in April 2007. Victoria’s share of the volume in major storages throughout the State was at 12.3% of capacity, compared with 33.2% at the same time last year.
Melbourne Water's storages reduced by 2.0% in April 2007, to finish the month at 30.0% of capacity (19.9% lower than at the same time last year). Rural Water Authority storages reduced by 1.5%, to finish the month at 9.0% of capacity (21.2% lower than at the same time last year).
The Ovens Basin increased in storage volume by 4.4% in April. All other basins experienced a further reduction (ranging between -0.1% to -2.3%).
On 30 April, storages in the Glenelg-Wimmera Basin were at 3.5% of capacity compared with 6.4% at the same time last year; Lake Eildon was at 5.4% of capacity compared with 21.3% at the same time last year, and Rosslynne Reservoir was at 4.3% of capacity compared with 8.5% at the same time last year.
