Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams
At the end of May, diversions from a total of 207 streams and lakes across the State were subject to some form of restriction (compared with 40 at the end of May 2006 and 213 in April 2007).
- Changes in restrictions in Northern Victoria reflected the significant rainfalls received in the Murray and Ovens basins. In the Murray Basin, Goulburn Murray Water lifted restrictions for two streams and relaxed irrigation bans for Cudgewa Creek. Irrigation bans were relaxed for 8 rivers in the Ovens Basin.
- Southern Rural Water lifted bans for three rivers in the Western zone, and one in both the Port Phillip and Gippsland zones.
- There were no changes in restrictions on unregulated streams for Melbourne Water’s Yarra Catchment or for rivers managed by Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water.
