Groundwater Levels - May 2007
Note: Last updated end of May 2007. This Groundwater Report is updated every 3 months. The next update will be provided at end of August 2007.
Levels were below average and falling for most of the key groundwater management areas in the State, including Condah, Glenelg, Moolort, Murmungee, Neuarpur, Nepean, Nullawarre, Spring Hill, Warrion and Yarram.
Levels were below average, rising or stable for Campaspe Deep Lead, Denison, Deutgam, Katunga, Kialla, Mid Goulburn, Mid Loddon, Sale, Shepparton, Upper Loddon, Yangery and Wy Yung.
Levels were at historic average levels or within set limits at Bungaree, Koo Wee Rup, Murrayville, Telopea Downs, Wa De Lock and Wandin Yallock.
Caps on groundwater extraction are set by either managing to water levels or setting maximum extraction volumes. This is the case for areas under management plans such as Campaspe Deep Lead, Katunga and Murrayville.
