Urban Water Restrictions - July 2007
There were a number changes to urban water restrictions during July. Key changes included the following:
- Restrictions were increased to Stage 4 for customers supplied from the Murray system. Towns supplied from the unregulated streams within the Murray Basin moved to Stage 3 restrictions.
- Restrictions were increased to Stage 4 for customers supplied from the Goulburn system. Towns supplied from the unregulated streams within the Goulburn Basin moved to Stage 3 restrictions.
- East Gippsland Water reduced restrictions from Stage 4 to Stage 1 for towns supplied from the Mitchell River.
- South Gippsland Water removed Stage 4 restrictions for customers in Poowong, Loch, Nyora, Meeniyan and Dumbulk.
- Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water increased restrictions from Stage 2 to Stage 4 for Quambatook.
The total number of Victorian towns on restriction as at 31 July was 436, of which 31 towns are on Stage 1, 52 are on Stage 2, 44 are on Stage 3, 18 on Stage 3a and 291 are on Stage 4 restrictions. Some reductions in the severity of existing restrictions are flagged for August.
