Rainfall - July 2007
For the first time in a number of years Victoria experienced average or above average July rainfall. Above average falls were recorded in Central district, the Latrobe Valley and east Gippsland. Geelong and surrounding region recorded very much above average falls. The rest of the State received average rainfall.
The highest total of 285.2mm was recorded at Weeaproinah. The lowest total of 23.0mm was recorded at Mildura Airport. Avalon Airport received its highest July rainfall on record.
Maximum temperatures were close to average across the State, slightly below in the north and east, slightly above in the south and west. Minimum temperatures were also close to average, slightly below in the north, slightly above in the south.
Melbourne received 62.8mm of rain during the month, which is above the long-term July average of 48.8mm. The average maximum temperature was 13.8°C. This is 0.1°C higher than the July average.
