Urban Water Restrictions - August 2007
There were a number changes to urban water restrictions during August. Key changes included the following:
- Gippsland Water lifted restrictions from Stage 2 for all systems excluding Maffra, Boisdale, Stratford and Coongulla/Glenmaggie. Restrictions for Maffra, Boisdale and Stratford were reduced from Stage 4 to Stage 2.
- South Gippsland Water lifted Stage 4 restrictions for Korumburra.
- East Gippsland Water lifted Stage 1 restrictions from 24 August 2007 for towns supplied from the Mitchell River system.
- North East Water reduced restrictions for Springhurst from Stage 4 to Stage 3.
The total number of Victorian towns on restriction as at 31 August was 376, of which 14 towns are on Stage 1, 13 are on Stage 2, 45 are on Stage 3, 18 on Stage 3a and 286 are on Stage 4 restrictions. Some reductions in the severity of existing restrictions are flagged for September.
