Urban Water Restrictions - February 2007

A number of new or increased urban water restrictions took effect during February. Key changes included:

  • Stage 2 restrictions were imposed for Bonnie Doon, Beechworth, and all towns serviced by Coliban Water on the Goulburn and Murray systems.
  • Stage 3 restrictions were imposed for Beaufort, Raglan, Lexton, Corryong, Cudgewa, Glenrowan, Myrtleford, Yackandandah and Lance Creek.
  • Stage 4 restrictions were imposed for all towns serviced by Gippsland Water on the Thomson/Macalister system (excluding Heyfield).
  • Stage 4 restrictions were imposed for Omeo and Swifts Creek, all towns on the Sunday Creek system, Euroa and Violet Town, Moyhu and Oxley, Whitfield, Benalla, Little Bass and all towns on the Agnes River system.

The total number of towns subject to water restrictions as at 28 February 2007 was 452. Ninety-two towns were on Stage 1, 58 on Stage 2, 76 on Stage 3, and 226 on Stage 4 restrictions. Increases in the severity of existing restrictions have already been flagged for March.
