Rainfall - October 2008
Extremely dry weather conditions continued throughout Victoria during October. Total rainfall was very much below the October long-term average across most of the state.
The north-west corner of the state received 10 mm of rainfall or less. The Western, North Central, Northeast and West Gippsland regions received between 10 and 25 mm of rainfall. Isolated parts of the Otways and East Gippsland received higher falls of up to 50 mm.
The highest monthly rainfall total of 70.4 mm was recorded at Weeaproinah in the Otways region.
Eleven rainfall recording sites experienced their lowest October rainfall on record.
Melbourne received only 21% of the normal total rainfall for October.
