Urban Water Restrictions - October 2011
On 30 October, Barwon Water introduced Stage 2 restrictions for Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek and Marengo. These restrictions occur every year to manage water use during the peak tourist season between November and April.
At the end of the month, 29 Victorian towns were subject to water restrictions. At the same time last year, 161 towns were subject to water restrictions. Close to 470 towns across Victoria were subject to restrictions during the peak of the drought in 2007. Over 490 Victorian towns are not on restrictions currently, but are subject to permanent water savings rules.
