Urban Water Restrictions - August 2011
On 1 August, Lower Murray Water introduced Stage 3 restrictions for its urban customers in Robinvale to ensure water supply will not be interrupted while the Robinvale Urban Water Treatment Plant is upgraded during August and September.
At the end of the month, 33 Victorian towns were subject to water restrictions. At the same time last year, 239 towns were subject to water restrictions. Close to 470 towns across Victoria were subject to restrictions during the peak of the drought in 2007.
Over 480 Victorian towns are not on restrictions currently, but are subject to permanent water savings rules.
