Urban Water Restrictions - July 2011
On 22 July, Central Highlands Water removed Stage 2 restrictions for Daylesford, Hepburn and Hepburn Springs following the completion of dam safety works at Bullarto Reservoir. Central Highlands also reduced restrictions for Blackwood and Barrys Reef from Stage 3 to Stage 2. On 27 July, North East Water removed Stage 4 restrictions for Bundalong following the refilling of Lake Mulwala.
At the end of the month, 32 Victorian towns were subject to water restrictions. At the same time last year, 243 towns were subject to water restrictions. Close to 470 towns across Victoria were subject to restrictions during the peak of the drought in 2007.
Over 480 Victorian towns are not on restrictions currently, but are subject to permanent water savings rules.
