Urban Water Restrictions - May 2011

There were a number of changes to urban water restrictions during May.  On 1 May, Barwon Water removed Stage 2 restrictions for Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek and Marengo.  North East Water also removed Stage 2 restrictions for Goorambat on 18 May, however, it was necessary to introduce Stage 4 for Bundalong on 4 May due to Murray-Darling Basin Authority works on Lake Mulwala.  Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water removed Stage 4 (with exemptions) restrictions for Streatham and Westmere on 27 May.

At the end of the month, 36 Victorian towns were subject to water restrictions.  At the same time last year, 243 towns were subject to water restrictions.

Over 480 Victorian towns are not on restrictions, but are subject to permanent water savings rules.
