Streamflows - November 2010
The rainfall pattern in November was largely similar to October, with intermittent falls throughout the month. However, the combination of heavier rainfall at the end of November and its distribution across Victoria resulted in a dramatic change to the streamflow situation.
Of the 28 representative streamflow gauging stations, 19 stations located across the State recorded flows above the long-term November average at the end of the month. Five stations recorded flows between 50 and 99% of the long-term November average, while three recorded flows between 25 and 45% of the average. One station, located in East Gippsland, recorded flows less than 10% of the long-term November average at the end of the month.
At the end-of-month, flow at all stations was higher than the historical minimum for November, and higher than the 2006/07 November drought flow.
