Restrictions on Diversions - November 2010

On this page

Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams.

  • At the end of November, diversions from a total of 11 unregulated streams and lakes across the state were subject to restrictions.  The number of unregulated streams and lakes on restriction typically increases during the summer period, as streamflows decrease with the hotter and drier weather.  This is the lowest number of unregulated waterways on restriction since 2006/07, and is significantly lower than the same time last year when over 100 streams and lakes were subject to rosters or bans.
  • In northern Victoria, Goulburn-Murray Water had restrictions or irrigation bans in place on three streams in the Kiewa basin, four in the Loddon and one in the Campaspe.
  • There was one restriction or ban in place in Melbourne Water’s jurisdictions at the end of November.
  • GWM Water has an irrigation ban in place for Lake Natimuk.
  • Southern Rural Water had irrigation restrictions in place for one stream in the Western Region at the end of November.
