Urban Water Restrictions - August 2010
On 1 August, Central Highlands Water reduced Stage 4 restrictions (with exemptions) for Maryborough and district to Stage 3, and Stage 3 restrictions for Ballarat and district to Stage 1.
Wannon Water removed Stage 2 restrictions for Hamilton, Cavendish, Tarrington and Dunkeld on 1 August.
At the end of August, 239 Victorian towns were on restrictions. This is significantly lower than the same time last year, when 332 towns were on restrictions. Of the current towns on restrictions, 102 were on Stage 1 restrictions, 7 on Stage 2, 111 on Stage 3, 5 on Stage 4 with general exemptions and 14 on Stage 4. Approximately 270 towns were not on water restrictions but were subject to permanent water saving rules.
