Restrictions on Diversions - February 2010

Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams.
At the end of February, diversions from a total of 175 unregulated streams and lakes across the state were subject to restrictions. This is less that the same time last year when 190 streams were on restriction.
- In northern Victoria, Goulburn-Murray Water introduced new irrigation bans on one stream in the Murray basin, and four streams in the Ovens basin. Stage 2 restrictions were introduced for a further four streams, and Stage 4 restrictions for a further three streams, in the Ovens basin.
- Melbourne Water introduced irrigation bans on another two streams during February.
- Bans on diversions from all unregulated streams in the GWMWater region remained in force.
- Southern Rural Water removed restrictions on six streams, reduced irrigation bans to Stage 1 restrictions on two streams, to Stage 3 on one stream and to Stage 4 on two streams.
