Streamflows - January 2010
Streamflows have receded this month due to hot dry weather. 18 of the 28 representative stations recorded flows less than 10% of the long-term January average, extending across three-quarters of the state. 11 of these stations recorded no flows.
The remaining 10 stations recorded flows between 10 and 79% of the long-term January average, with the Moe River at Darnum recording the highest.
As a result of low January rainfalls, only 9 stations recorded January flows higher than those recorded in January 1983 (during the 1982/1983 drought).
