Storage Levels - January 2010

Below average streamflows this month resulted in a decrease in the total volume in the state’s major storages of 2.6% to 23.5% of total capacity.

Melbourne’s storage levels receded slowly over the month, and by the end of January storages were 1.4% below the levels at the end of December, finishing the month at 36.1% of capacity.  This is 3.0% higher than the same time last year.

Overall, regional water storages decreased by 2.7% to 21.8% of capacity at the end of January.
