Rainfall - January 2010
Total rainfall for January was mainly average or below average across Victoria except in parts of the north-east and north-central where it was above average. Isolated patches of below average rainfall were recorded in most regions around the state, including South Gippsland, East Gippsland, the Werribee and Moorabool catchments, the Otways, the Wimmera and southwest Victoria.
The highest monthly rainfall of 194.8 mm was recorded in the Alpine region at Falls Creek, which was well above average for January. Rainfall recorded at Dartmouth Reservoir (103.6 mm) was also well above the January average of 61.1 mm.
Rainfall in Melbourne was below average for January, with only 22.6 mm falling compared to an average 47.4 mm.
