Restrictions on Diversions - December 2009

On this page

Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams.

At the end of December, diversions from a total of 130 unregulated streams and lakes across the state were subject to restrictions. This is similar to the same time last year when 133 streams were on restriction.

  • In northern Victoria, Goulburn-Murray Water introduced Irrigation Bans on three streams in the Loddon catchment, two in the Mitta catchment, and one stream in the King basin. Also, a Stage 3 restriction on Hurdle Creek in the King basin was upgraded to an Irrigation Ban.
  • Melbourne Water reinstated pumping bans on two streams and introduced bans on two streams during December. Pumping restrictions were introduced on one stream.
  • Bans on diversions from all unregulated streams in the GWMWater region remained in force.
  • Southern Rural Water did not make any changes to the restrictions on diversions this month.
