Urban Water Restrictions - November 2009
On 1 November, Wannon Water reduced restrictions for Hamilton, Cavendish, Dunkeld and Tarrington to Stage 2. Coliban Water reduced restrictions for all towns on the Goulburn system to Stage 1, for Goornong to Stage 3 and for Echuca to Stage 1. CHW announced exemptions to Stage 4 restrictions for the Ballarat and Maryborough districts. Barwon Water introduced Stage 2 restrictions for Apollo Bay, Skenes Creek and Marengo.
On 9 November, Lower Murray Water reduced restrictions on all towns, including Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang, and Robinvale, to Stage 1. On 13 November, Central Highlands Water reduced Stage 3 restrictions for Beaufort and Raglan to Stage 1.
On 20 November North East Water removed Stage 1 restrictions for Benalla, and Goulburn Valley removed Stage 1 restrictions for all towns in their region (over 50 towns). On 23 November, Central Highlands Water reduced Stage 4 restrictions for Lexton to Stage 1.
At the end of November, 266 Victorian towns were on restrictions. Of these, 87 were on Stage 1 restrictions, 17 were on Stage 2, 34 were on Stage 3, 19 on Stage 3a, 91 on Stage 4 with general exemptions and 18 on Stage 4. Approximately 260 towns were not on water restrictions but were subject to Permanent Water Saving Rules.
