Restrictions on Diversions - October 2009

Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams.
At the end of October, diversions from a total of 117 unregulated streams and lakes across the state were subject to restrictions. This is lower than the same time last year when 127 streams were on restriction.
- In northern Victoria, Goulburn-Murray Water removed restrictions on eight streams in the Goulburn catchment, and two streams in the Mitta and Kiewa catchments.
- Melbourne Water has reinstated pumping bans and restrictions on nine streams due to below average rainfall conditions during October.
- Bans on diversions from all unregulated streams in the GWMWater region remained in force.
- Southern Rural Water did not make any changes to the restrictions on diversions this month.
