Storage Levels - June 2009
The rate of storage level decline across Victoria has slowed. Some storages in the northeast, west and south showed small signs of recovery in June. However, storages remain very low in central and northern Victoria.
This month, the total volume in the state’s major storages1 increased by 1.4% to 13.9% of capacity.
Melbourne's storages2 decreased by 0.3% over the month to 26% of capacity. This is 3.5% lower than at the same time last year.
Regional water storages increased by 1.5% to 12.2% of capacity at the end of June.
1Lake Mokoan is being decommissioned and has been removed from the list of storages. 2Tarago Reservoir became part of the Melbourne Supply System in June 2009.
