Restrictions on Diversions - May 2009

Rosters and restrictions on diversions from unregulated streams.
At the end of May, diversions from a total of 190 unregulated streams and lakes across the state were subject to restrictions. This is greater than at the same time last year when 156 streams were on restriction.
- In northern Victoria, Goulburn-Murray Water introduced an irrigation ban on Back Creek in the Mitta basin, and a Stage 4 restriction on Nariel Creek in the Murray basin.
- Bans on diversions from all unregulated streams in the GWMWater region remained in force.
- In southern Victoria, Southern Rural Water reduced irrigation bans on four streams and removed restrictions on one stream.
- Melbourne Water introduced irrigation bans on the Don River, Little Yarra River and Olinda Creek.
