Urban Water Restrictions - March 2009
The following changes to restriction levels occurred in March:
- North East Water increased restrictions to Stage 2 for Harrietville, Bright, Porepunkah and Wandiligong from 4 March and for Whitfield from 11 March.
- Goulburn Valley Water reduced restrictions to Stage 1 for Kilmore, Wandong and Heathcote Junction from 20 March.
- North East Water increased restrictions to Stage 4 for Springhurst from 25 March.
- Central Highlands Water increased restrictions to Stage 4 for Lexton and Forest Hill from 30 March.
- North East Water reduced restrictions to Stage 2 for Chiltern from 31 March.
The total number of Victorian towns on restrictions at 31 March 2009 was 343. 69 towns were on Stage 1 restrictions, 53 were on Stage 2, 50 were on Stage 3, 19 on Stage 3a, 101 on Stage 4 with general exemptions and 51 on Stage 4.
Approximately 170 towns were not on water restrictions and were subject to Permanent Water Saving Rules
