Rainfall - March 2009
After several very hot and dry summer months, weather conditions returned to normal during March.
Rainfall totals for the month were close to the long-term averages across most of the state. However, East Gippsland and part of South Gippsland received below average rainfall for March.
The highest total monthly rainfall of 135.2 mm was recorded at Weeaproinah in the Otways.
Melbourne received 47.6 mm of rainfall in March, close to the long-term average of 50.2 mm.
