The $320 million Victorian Water Trust (VWT) was established in 2003 to provide investment over 10 years to secure sustainable water supplies for Victoria.

The objectives of the VWT are to:

• Enhance the health and sustainability of the water resources of Victoria, including rivers.
• Provide greater security for meeting the future water needs of Victorians.
• Encourage the increased re-use and recycling of water in Victoria.
• Improve efficiencies in the use of water across Victoria.

Advisory Council

The VWT Advisory Council was established to provide independent advice to the Minister for Water on the allocation of Trust funds, additional sources of funding and Victorian water policy.

The members of the Advisory Council are Christine Forster (Chair), Sally Farrier, Barry Steggall and John Langford.
