Project Update - October 2010

A series of regional stakeholder forums have been held in Leongatha, Traralgon, Orbost and Bairnsdale. In total about 150 people attended the forums to hear about the recently released Draft Strategy and the key proposals and opportunities to respond to the threats to Gippsland’s water security over the next 50 years.

In addition to the four regional stakeholder forums, meetings are being held with a range of stakeholder groups that include water corporations, catchment management authorities and local government representatives.

Submissions in response to the Draft Gippsland Region Sustainable Water Strategy are due by Friday, December 3. All the submissions made will help to inform the development of the Final Strategy.
