Second Independent Audit of Water Savings
The second independent audit of water savings for the irrigation season 2009-2010 has been completed for the Northern Victoria Irrigation Renewal Project (NVIRP) and the Goulburn-Murray Water modernisation projects.
The audit was carried out in September 2010 by an independent consulting firm from Queensland, Cardno Pty Ltd. It covered NVIRP stage 1 and Shepparton and Central Goulburn 1234 modernisation works.
The audit found that actual water savings achieved for the 2009-2010 season for the three projects were 24,262 megalitres (ML) for stage 1 of NVIRP, 22,451 ML for Shepparton and 5,674 ML for CG1234.
