September 2011

The month of September signalled the two-year anniversary since AquaSure began construction at the Victorian Desalination Project plant site. The Wonthaggi Rotary Club took part in the celebrations by organising a BBQ for workers during their lunch breaks.

This month, the distributed temperature sensor fibre optic cable, which monitors the power line, was fully installed. The fibre optic cable which runs from the plant site through to the Cranbourne Terminal Station is also nearly completed.

On the plant site workers have been busy loading the Dual Media Pressure Filters with gravel and sand and then bubble testing each one.

Work inside the reverse osmosis (RO) building also continued. Following completion of RO rack installation, workers have been hydrotesting the racks to ensure they are watertight.

There are currently 4,269 workers on the project. This number is expected to start declining as the construction nears completion.
