Tunnelling work on the outlet tunnel was completed during the month of February and construction on the permanent connections (called adits) between the tunnels and marine risers has started.

There are now more than 3500 people working on the project, including more than 2400 on the plant site and nearly 740 working on pipe and power.

The reverse osmosis building is about 60 per cent complete, with significant progress made on the installation of pre-cast concrete panels for the walls and the Ortech roof panels, which are manufactured in Bendigo. Preparation work has also begun for the plant’s green roof.

On the utilities easement, 78.7 km of pipe has been strung and 62.1 km of pipe has been laid. More than 65.4 km of power conduit and 163 cable drums totalling 65.2 linear km of cable have been laid. The building slab is being poured for the Booster Pump Station at Clyde North and pre-cast wall construction is underway. Work is also progressing at the Pound Road and Lang Lang underground power supply compensation stations.
