Construction Update June 2010
Bulk earthworks were completed with detailed excavation continuing at the plant site. Steel structures continued to be erected for the reverse osmosis building. Tunnel Boring Machine assembly continued and the Seawater Lift Pump Station gallery base slab commenced.
On the pipeline and power supply easement over 53km of haul roads were completed. Over 20km of pipe has been laid and installation of power infrastructure continued with over 11km of conduit laid.
About 2700 people are currently working on the project including 1200 at the plant site and 400 on the pipeline and power supply plus designers and a range of sub-contractors.
