Construction Update April 2010

The footprint of the buildings on the plant site is starting to take shape with work on foundations continuing and structural steel work beginning, particularly for the reverse osmosis building. Earthworks are about 90 per cent complete with over 1 million cubic metres of soil excavated to form on site dunes.

Pipe laying continues with 10km completed and 60km of temporary fencing erected. Five road crossings are now completed. About 1700 people are currently working on the project including about 640 on the plant site and 400 on the pipeline and power supply.
